A couple of minor things that I ran into which might help. They might
have to use the delete, rather than the backspace key. There are
various set tty options--things like stty erase ^H or ^? in the .profile
or .cshrc. Sometimes these work and sometimes they don't.
Set their profile for TERM=vt100.
These couple of things have helped me with a few cases of this, for
example either the Windows or Mac terminal going to an AIX machine.
man stty might have some ideas for you too. Isn't it aggravating to
forget those things that you knew so well?
