hpcmips machines except IBM Z50 has touch panel.
So at that time,I can't imagine this situation,IBM Z50 user report to me.

Switch vt220 to wsvt25 on wscons support comes to hpcmips.I think.

try 4 lines on ANY machine you have:
ftp ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/tar_files/src.tar.gz
tar xzvf src.tar.gz -C /usr
cd /usr/src
./build.sh -m hpcmips release

I try to make 
pkgsrc/x11/mlterm  .. to sixel graphic displayable console
pkgsrc/net/sayaka  .. twitter client.
