freebsd also has continuing support being developed to Xen (as well as
support for virtual box).

hah - i wish you were correct re: linux vitrualization being consistent.
 libvirt is *sorta* consistent if you stick to one distro - but once you
start mixing centos, unbuntu and debian hypervisors proceed at your own
risk.  and Qemu/KVM also has interesting delta's between distro's and
kernel revisions I have found.

i'm all for having support for multiple hypervisors in the BSD
ecosystem.  i am willing to bet that the approach OpenBSD will take will
be quite a bit different than the bhyve team.
