if someone wants to add FreeBSD base/world updates to crontab, so ...

    % grep -v -E '(^$|^#)' /etc/freebsd-update.conf

I changed the components to be updated, and that's it; no kernel update, no
need to reboot.
of course human interaction will be needed sometime to check for kernel
updates and perform an assisted system upgrade.

I just tested it around here, and that's what I got (after running from
crontab);

  root at freebsd11:~ # date

  root at freebsd11:~ # uptime
   5:00PM  up 4 mins, 1 users, load averages: 0.55, 0.41, 0.19

  root at freebsd11:~ # uname -a

root at releng2.nyi.freebsd.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC
